Rehearsal rules

For all rehearsals on the stage, dancers sit in the audience with their classes while they wait to take their turn on the stage.  We typically run the finale or curtain call first and then the show in show order.  Dancers are free to leave after their rehearsal on the stage.   Or they can stay and watch the show.  This is the only time that the dancers are permitted in the audience to watch the show.   During the performances, all dancers must stay backstage out of sight.

Ballet dancers in AVariations from Raymonda@will have their pictures taken on Monday, May 17th at the studio.  Evening show tap, jazz and/or hip hop dancers in ADeca-dance@ will need to come to the studio on Tuesday May 18th for pictures and Matinee preschool, kinder and primary age dancers will have their pictures on Wednesday May 19th at the studio.

Smile for the Camera

*Picture times, order packets and costumes will be distributed the last week of classes.  Dancers may wear their hair and makeup however they want for pictures.  We ask that all dancers take the group shot picture, even if you are not purchasing pictures.

Please note that all fees must be paid in full before costumes will be issued for pictures.

We once again have Aspen Pro Media producing the DVD of this year=s shows.  The cost will only be $40 per DVD.  If you want your DVD mailed to you, it costs $45 for postage and handling.  The matinee show will be on a separate DVD as well.  DVD orders can be taken here at the studio or on the night of the shows. Parents may only videotape in-studio, tech and dress rehearsals.

Ticket Information

Tickets will be available for purchase for the recitals here at the studio on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 12 noon. Tickets for the evening shows are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.  Tickets for the matinee are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.  Please keep in mind that tickets are good for only one show.  Tickets are on a first come first sold basis.  Please note that all seats for the shows are reserved for you once you purchase your ticket(s).

Tuition

Tuition is due the first week of dance classes.  Parents have three options when paying tuition fees: Pay 100% up front, pay 50% now and the remainder is due the week of March 1st, or pay monthly (must have a credit card on file). Tuition that is paid monthly will be charged the first week of each month for classes.  There are 18 weeks of dance classes this semester, therefore, tuition was increased to cover these extra classes this semester.

Costume fees are now due for new students!  Those who paid a costume deposit in November, may pay the balance with your tuition in January or include payments with whichever payment plan you choose. Costume deposits and fees are non-refundable

Recital fees are due by April 5th, 2010 or may be included with whichever payment plan you choose.  Recital fees pay for the extra in-studio, tech/dress, finale and day of the show rehearsals.  *Performing in the recitals is optional.

Studio News

All That Dance no longer mails out newsletters.  We will send out newsletters and studio updates to your email.  Please check to make sure that we have your correct email address from when you registered last fall.  A copy of the newsletter will also be available at the studio.  The newsletter is always updated on our website at: www.allthatdancesite.com

Snow days & Spring break

The dance studio will cancel dance classes on the same day as an F.U.S.D. snow declared holiday.  Please call the studio to check the message recorder after 1 p.m. if you are unsure about dance classes for that day.  If we miss a dance class for inclement weather conditions, we will schedule makeup classes later in the semester.

There will be no dance classes held the week of spring break, March 15-19, 2010.  There are no makeups for this week, as tuition was figured up without this week of classes.

Finale Rehearsals

This year, we will only be having two finale rehearsals for the evening production of ADeca-dance.@  In order to perform in this dance, you must attend the finale rehearsals on Saturdays, April 24 and May 8, 2010 at the studio from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  Only those dancers who perform in the evening production of ADeca-dance,@ have extra finale rehearsals.   If you are unable to attend the finale rehearsals, you may only come out at the end to take a final bow with your class.

Costume Arrivals

When costumes are distributed please note the importance of taking care of your child=s costume.  Please store all costumes and

accessories in a clean and safe place.  Please do not alter any part of the costume, exception- hemlines or as directed by Rhonda.  Please do not allow your child to wear or play in their recital costume.  We cannot replace any lost or damaged costumes or accessories in time for the shows.  All fees must be paid in before costumes are distributed!

If your costume includes new tights, please do not wear those for dance class.  Please keep these tights clean and Arun@ free before the show, as they are considered part of your costume.  Please have your child wearing the proper dance shoe in class and make sure their shoes still fit properly and look good for the recital.

Hair and makeup should be worn for all dress rehearsals and shows as directed by your dance teacher.   Ballet students must have their hair worn in properly secured ballet bun.  This includes the use of bobby pins, no bangs or loose hair in face, a hairnet, hair gel or hair spray to keep the bun tightly secured.  All jazz, tap and hip hop dancers should wear their hair out of their face for the dance recital. We strongly recommend that you do not do anything drastic to alter your appearance prior to the dance recitals

Important costume rules: NO VISIBLE JEWELRY, TATOOS OR UNDERWEAR.  DANCERS ARE NOT TO EAT, DRINK OR CHEW GUM WHILE IN COSTUME ON STAGE OR AT ANY REHEARSAL!

Recital Rules

Attendance to all classes is very crucial at this point as we are learning our recital dances.  Attendance to all tech and dress rehearsals is mandatory!  If there is a conflict, please check with Rhonda for specific stage times.  Attendance to all in-studio and finale rehearsals is also required.  Rhonda must be notified in writing if you are missing an in-studio or finale rehearsal.

Dancers must dress out appropriately for all rehearsals: dance clothes and dance shoes must be worn.  Only those dancers with multiple costume changes will be allowed backstage to change during the dress rehearsal.  Bottled water is the only drink allowed backstage.
